Hello,
With two school holidays honoring past presidents this month and a presidential election in the news on a daily basis, interest is high as we begin the research project, "The President's of the United States". Monday students will get their assignment and begin by learning how to make note cards. This project is due on March 6. Please take a minute to see the required sections and help your student with TIME MANAGEMENT!! For some, the holidays are a great time to work on projects, and for many the 3 day weekends are great opportunities to get away.
This week in Room 10:
1. Book report presentations are Tuesday-Friday. Students have the date of their presentation in their planner. Remember, "Everyone's A Critic".
2. Valentine's Day is just around the corner. Please send in $5.00 to cover the breakfast cost and return the bottom of the flyer if you can help with this fun celebration or just give our room moms a call. Both Mrs. Rossi and Mrs. Nigh would love to hear from you. We'll have a class Valentine card exchange after lunch on the 14th. Students will get a class list this week.
3. Please complete and return both the permission slip for the symphony concert and the PVUSD Parent Survey. The survey can also be completed online.
4. The first Family LIfe class on the Immune System and HIV/AIDS is this Tuesday.
5. This week we'll begin reading Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson in class. It's a wonderful book filled with multiple themes that fifth grade students can identify with.
