Hello,
Last week we had an exceptional day of learning "outside" of the classroom. Over and over I heard the children rave about their day at NASA. Their thank you notes to the docents are filled with new information learned at NASA and sincere gratitude. The morning traffic is challenging, but parents who attended will agree, it's worth the effort!
HERE'S WHAT'S HAPPENING IN ROOM 10 THIS WEEK:
* We'll continue reading Sign of the Beaver over the next two weeks. No new grammar or spelling from our reading series this week. We'll work with the new vocabulary from the book in class.
* Working in groups, students are making a Museum of Colonization in North America in social studies. They will have time in class each day, but also need to work on this at home nightly. Each student is responsible for three items: a written piece, an object, and a piece of their choice. This project will take us through the month of December.
* News Teams 3 and 4 will report the news on Friday.
* Please complete and return the permission slip with $1.00. We're going to the Jr. High to see Beauty and the Beast on Dec.19.
* The date for the science test has been changed. THE TEST IS NOW ON FRIDAY, DECEMBER 7.
* Everyone needs a cup and saucer for the Poetry Cafe on December 13.
